Farewell dear Sligo, I now must leave;
To part thy beauties I now do grieve;
It's not for ever I do believe -
I'll call again on Sligo.
To Holywell I bid adieu,
To Hazelwood and Camiso(?),
And Tubernaltk(?), that splendid view
That adorns the town of Sligo.
To dear Lough Gill with its isles so grand,
We oftimes wandered hand in hand,
And skipped along its shining sarós(?),
So far away from Sligo.
In yon deep glen where woodbines scant(?)
So many hours of sweet content
And from your boats sweet music went
Across the lakes to Sligo.
